For authors attention!

The journal called EnergyOnline (EOL) publishes original scientific articles, scientific reviews, brief reports and data bases in the field of hydro-power engineering, nuclear and heat-and-power engineering, electrical engineering and electronics, mechanics and automation, informative, energy-saving technologies and other related trends as well as the information about international and regional projects on energy saving and technologies of energy carrier transportation. Originality, innovative nature of the results obtained, clarity and brevity of their presentation are the important elements characterizing the style and priorities of our journal. EOL web-sites are opened for analyst-economists, lecturers, inventors, experts involved in the field of power engineering. “Professionals to professionals” is a slogan and strategic vision of EOL.

Articles submitted to EOL should satisfy the requirements of the “Rules”. The articles will not be considered, if such requirements are not taken into the account.

Size of the letters submitted to editor’s should not exceed 2 pages, brief reports – 5 pages. Allowable size of scientific articles should not exceed 30 pages, reviews – 45 pages, and size of the data including tables should range from 5 to 200 pages. In case the articles are supported by big volume of data, for instance, when tables range within 10-200 pages, such tables or schemes will be published in form of separate catalogues within the journal data base. EOL publishes the articles in Georgian, English and Russian languages. Each article as well as other information should contain an abstract (annotation) in English (not exceeding 400 words). General structure of the article should be of following format:

  • title of the article;
  • author(s) name(s) indicating the author’s place and country of employment;
  • abstract;
  • key words;
  • introduction;
  • body text;
  • summary;
  • tables, graphs, illustrations, photos;
  • associated inscriptions to tables and graphs, etc.


Introduction should not exceed 1 page, summary – 0,5 page.

List of literature should be placed on a separate page in alphabetical order and by years, if necessary.

Names of all authors, full title of their works and international abbreviation of a relevant journal, pages, number and year of issuance should be indicated in the list of literature. In referring to conference works, it is necessary to indicate an exact conference name, date and place of holding, and in referring to books – full name of publisher and year of publishing.

Tables, illustrations and photos should follow the literature and should be furnished with explanations and relevant inscriptions. For instance, Photo 5. Power Station Turbine. Table 7. Volt Ampere Characteristics of ZLF.

Tables should be broken into columns and dimensions in each of them should be given in short form. For instance, length L; temperature T. Unclear abbreviations or simple numeration like 1,2,3,.......10 should be avoided in the tables.

Numeric data provided in the tables should not be duplicated in the body text.

The graphs, illustrations and photos may be white and black as well as colored. Hand writing of data or dimensions should be avoided within the illustrations or schemes. Schemes and reproductions should have high resolution, and graph axis should be marked out in as detailed way as possible. For instance, X-T axis (Kelvin).

Clearness, graphic expressiveness, clarity are required for all illustrations.

It is not recommended to overburden one and a same picture with number of separate components.

The body text of the article including introduction and summary should be typed in Times New Roman font, in size 12. Line spacing should be standard – 1.5. References in the text should be given in brackets containing name of the first author and year of publication. For instance, (Lomsadze 2005) or (Petrenko, etc. 2007).

Through numeric order, like (1); (2); ....... (15) should be maintained in case of increased amount of formula references in the text. Besides, the numeration should be put right from the relevant mathematical expression.

Numeration of the pictures and tables should be given in brackets, like: (picture 1.), (table 4.)

Physical quantity units and their symbols should comply with one of international systems (CGS, SI).

EOL editor’s recommend the authors to use standard programs including Office 2003, Adobe, Photoshop.

The articles are accepted in doc, txt, rtf, pdf; graphics – in jpg, tif, bmp.

The journal publishes abstracts and key words in HTML and full article texts – in pdf.

The articles are presented to the editor’s by e-mail or by ordinary mail. The articles sent by e-mails should be provided only as attachments.

The articles sent by ordinary mail should be provided in one paper copy plus one CD containing all files.

The articles received will be forwarded for review. Duration of the review will not exceed 1 calendar month. The articles returned to the authors for revision should be resent to the editor’s within 2 months from their return.

A lot of unjustified self-citing and plagiarism are not allowable in EOL. Final decision about the article publication will be made by EOL editor’s.

  1. “Rules” for article execution should be translated into English and Georgian.
  2. It is necessary to indicate addresses in “Rules”.
  3. “Rules” are prepared in a modest way. The authors are not required to strictly follow the formatting of each full point or comma. This is to simplify the presentation process.
  4. Attention! English version of the web-site should be loaded firstly, otherwise any regionalism will be out of the question.
  5. Forum will be managed by moderator. Users will be registered.
  6. Links are underlined with green.
  7. Topics that are not allowed to be considered and discussed within this forum will be described in the link “we don not support”.
  8. Forum interface, its appearance should significantly vary from the journal and web-site.



Graphics, color and other forum characteristics should essentially differ from all the rest on the web-site.
